Don't miss it: Goose story
Wednesday, April 20, 2005

Marcia Croce Martin has been on a wild goose chase since she moved to Griffith's Pond in Brewster six years ago. Now, she's written a charming book, "Bandy, The True Tale of a Courageous Cape Cod Canada Goose" with photographs to prove it. The bird, who was banded in Brewster in 1995 - hence the name "Bandy" - captured her heart with its many trials and tribulations. He loses a foot, his mate deserts him and he almost loses his life. But he wins Martin's devotion and she tells the story with sincerity and grace. The 130-page book is easy reading. Meet the author this Saturday at a booksigning from 2 to 4 p.m. at Yellow Umbrella Books in Chatham.
